Sandi Menchi Abahan is a Filipino obstacle course racing (OCR), Spartan, trail running and skyrunning athlete from Baguio City, and a member of the Philippine national obstacle sports team. She is a Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, the first Asian to medal at the Spartan World Championship, and a Hammer Nutrition athlete. She was featured by Hammer Nutrition USA in its athlete spotlight and in the January to April 2026 issue of Endurance News, Hammer's magazine.
“Hammer gives me the edge to keep going longer and stronger!”
From the Cordillera mountains to world podiums
Sandi is an Igorot athlete who grew up in the mountains of the Cordillera. She started running at 15, earned a college scholarship through running, and built her base in trail running, ultramarathons and skyraces before moving into obstacle course racing. She credits those long mountain races for her mental toughness.
Where it started with Hammer
When Sandi joined us she was coming off a tough race. Just 4 days before the Xterra Asia Pacific Trail Marathon she decided to trust Hammer fuel, despite the usual rule of never trying something new on race day. It paid off: she won the women's marathon in her first race with Hammer Nutrition Philippines. She has been unstoppable since.

Spartan Ultra World Championship, Morzine 2025
It was her first Spartan Ultra and her biggest result yet. In July 2025, Sandi finished on the podium at the Spartan Ultra World Championship in Morzine, France: 50 km and 60 obstacles, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's best. This was never just a race. It was about showing the world what a Filipina can do.

Her fuel for Morzine: Perpetuem, Hammer Gel, Endurolytes Extreme, Race Day Boost, Anti-Fatigue Caps, Energy Surge, Hammer Whey Protein, Recoverite, Premium Insurance Caps, Xobaline, Tissue Rejuvenator and Enduro D. No shortcuts and no fancy gear, just grit and clean, steady nutrition.
Team Pilipinas OCR stood proud in France, with Coach Precious supporting every step behind the scenes.
Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon 2024
In October 2024, the Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, made its comeback after seven years, and Sandi was there for it. Racing in the Women's Elite category, she took the win. The climb was brutal and the conditions were tough, but she pushed hard all the way and finished strong, still smiling at the line.
Right after Kinabalu she went on to the Spartan race in Kuala Lumpur and then the Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships in Ulju, South Korea.
How Hammer fuels her racing
At 35, Sandi became the first Filipino to win 3 APAC Spartan Elite Championships. Fresh off a brutal skyrace at Mt. Kinabalu, she lined up against a stacked elite field that included Spartan Morzine athletes Yvonne Xu of China and Ailene Tolentino of the Philippines.
Hammer fueled this victory with Anti-Fatigue Caps, Endurance BCAA+, Race Caps Supreme, Energy Surge, Fully Charged and Vegan Recoverite, plus the essentials: Essential Mg, Premium Insurance Caps, Xobaline, Tissue Rejuvenator, REM Caps, Creatine Boost, Endurolytes Fizz, Endurolytes and Hammer Bombs, made with Hammer Gel mixed with Fully Charged or HEED.
This isn't just race day fueling. This is a system built daily and fueled clean. A lifestyle that builds health and strength, fuels and recovers right, finishes strong, and proves itself on the podium.
