Alyana Chavez is a Filipino obstacle course racing (OCR) athlete who started with Hammer Nutrition Philippines as a beginner and is now racing in the elite field. She is working toward a place on the Philippine National Team. Follow her on Instagram at @alyanachavez_.
From first obstacle to elite
Alyana began OCR at 17 and fell in love with the challenge, the discipline and the growth the sport brings. In 2024 she saved up for her first Hammer Nutrition starter kit, and we helped her pick the products for the races she was preparing for. She called it a dream come true.
Later that year she moved up from age group to the elite category, a change she admits terrified her, and earned her first elite podium. Since joining Hammer Nutrition she has raced the Spartan National Series, the Spartan Asia Pacific Championships, OCR Titans, KDRAC, UNAA and the National Obstacle Games.
Race record
- 2023: Spartan Philippine National Series, overall champion, female 18 to 24.
- 2023: Spartan Asia Pacific Championships in Thailand, gold, age group 18 to 24.
- 2024: OCR Titans at KDRAC (Elite) and UNAA (Amateur).
- 2024: National Obstacle Games, double gold in the 3 km and 6 km, age group 20 to 29, and top 5 overall female, coming back from injury.
- 2025: National Obstacle Games, silver in Women's Elite plus a bonus silver, racing against her idols.
- 2026: UNAA, bronze, and the Spartan Philippine National Series, fueled by Hammer.
Never giving up
After a difficult few months, Alyana found her spark again at the 2025 National Obstacle Games. She credits the people who stayed with her through the hard stretch, including Coach Sherwin Managil and Coach Sandi Menchi Abahan, and her Hammer Nutrition Philippines family.
In August 2026 she brought home her first major award in obstacle course racing, a trophy she dedicated to her mom and dad. In her words: "Never talented, just really good at never giving up."
